Brandon Flowers’ Thrasher Arrives With Nashville Country Sound
Brandon Flowers is moving into a different kind of music with Thrasher. The frontman of The Killers is going to release his solo album on August 21 2026 which is his first solo album in over ten years. Of going back, to the big rock music that he has been known for Flowers is choosing to focus on country-western music. He is working with musicians from Nashville. Telling stories that are connected to the place where he grew up.
Brandon Flowers Thrasher Releases August 21
Thrasher is coming out on Friday, August 21 through Island Records. If you look at Apple Music they have Thrasher as a thing you can listen to before it comes out. It has 10 songs. The official store, for Flowers also says that Thrasher will come out on Friday, August 21 and it will have 10 songs too.
The album is really something because it is the solo record from Flowers since The Desired Effect, which was released in 2015. Flowers started his solo career with Flamingo in 2010. So Thrasher is the solo album from Flowers and his first one, in 11 years.
Thrasher Was Recorded in Nashville
The Flowers people recorded their music at the RCA Studio A, in Nashville. This place is really special because a lot of American roots and country music was made there. They got some help from their friends Shawn Everett and Jonathan Rado who worked with them to make the music sound good. The Flowers and these guys have been working together for a time.
The sessions had musicians who’re really into the music scene in Nashville and traditional American music. They had some great people come in to play on the album like David Rawlings on guitar, Bruce Bouton on steel and Charlie McCoy on harmonica.
Childhood Music Shapes the New Direction
The country western music style is really special to Flowers. He has a connection, to this kind of music. Country western music means a lot to Flowers.
When he announced the record he said that getting older made him think about the music his father used to listen to. The country and western music his father liked seemed like a fit for the stories he wanted to tell on this record. He really liked the country- tradition and thought it was a great way to share the stories, on the record.

“Plans” Offers an Early Preview
Fans do not have to wait until August 21 to hear the direction of the project. “Plans”, the fourth song on the album, has already been released ahead of Thrasher. Flowers has also shared a performance of the track recorded at Historic RCA Studio A, directly connecting the single to the Nashville setting where the album was created. The song is like a preview of the music style that is used in the album. It gives us a taste of the roots music that is used in the album.
